ID11981 has more than 45 years of experience as an Otolaryngologist (Head and Neck Surgeon) with extensive experience in and knowledge of skull base surgery. He worked as a Consultant Surgeon in skull base surgery for almost 39 years at a major Australian private hospital. He founded the Microsurgical Skills Laboratory at a major private hospital, and was the Director for 17 years.

He received the honour of Emeritus Consultant at a major private hospital in 2015.

ID11981 also has extensive teaching experience. He was responsible for Registrar supervision at a major hospital for 14 years. He has also had an active role in undergraduate teaching at the hospital and a respected university since 1973. He was the Chairman and Director of Training for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for 12 years and has been a Member of the Regional Training Subcommittee since 1986.

He has published 141 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He has been involved in research projects on cochlear implants and acoustic tumour patients. He has also been on the editorial boards of various journals in the field of otolaryngology.
