A former Director of Research and a past Director of Clinical Haematology and Medical Oncology within large teaching hospitals. ID8586 has served on boards such as the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia and state branch of the Cancer Council, and numerous committees such as the Ministerial Consultative Council for Clinical Trials and Human Research Ethics.

ID8586’s contribution to this field was recognised with the Royal Melbourne Hospital Research Hall of Fame, the Order of Australia, for service to medicine in the areas of clinical oncology and research, to medical education and training, governance and leadership roles within professional organisations

ID8586 is accredited with Comcare in Oncology. WorkCover Victoria and TAC (Vic) as an IME in Haematology, Respiratory & Dermatology.
