Ethology is a branch of science studying the behaviour of animals, particularly in their natural environments and in an evolutionary context. It often involves the study of one certain behaviour across multiple animal groups, such as aggression, rather than a study of a behaviour in one group. It is also very pertinent in animal training. Clinical ethologists are usually veterinarians with specialised education into the behaviour of domesticated animals such as dogs, cats and horses.

Expertise in Action
Experts in clinical ethology may be required in disputes where the issue is animal training, especially in cases of injury or economic loss due to the behaviour of different animals. They may be required to assess the training given to a particular animal.
For some fields of expertise we have some sample sections of de-identified reports. Please contact our office if you are interested in a sample.

- The need for a view or inspection of a location
- The quantity of documentary material to be reviewed
- Whether there are reports of other experts to be reviewed and commented on in detail
- Whether there is a need for conferences with the expert either in person or by telephone/Skype
